Irrigation water source features

The rivers in the jurisdiction originate on the eastern slopes of the coastal mountains on the west side and flow eastward into the Pacific Ocean. The short-and rapid flows easily rise and recede, and the amount of water varies greatly between floods and dry periods. There are no reservoirs to store water from the rivers, so simple water intakes are installed to divert water for irrigation.
