- The jurisdiction of this area spans 11 townships, towns and cities in Taitung County. It borders the Central Mountain Range to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east. It is divided into the rift valley and coastal areas with the Coastal Mountain Range in the middle. The rift valley area starts from Chishang Township in the north, and the coastal area reaches from Changbin Township in the north, to Taimali Township in the south, with a 150 km coastline and terrain that slopes from west to east.
